Immediately after getting off the train, all of us looked at each other with wide eyes because boy was it HOT. The difference between the humidity in Tianjin/Beijing and Shanghai is incredible. So much worse in Shanghai.
We got settled in our room. The air-conditioning is fabulous and we are on the same floor as most of the kids on our program which is ideal. The room is pretty much the same as the last one, no complaints. The internet might actually be a little better here!
But, we really felt like we were swimming around campus today when we were on our tour. The humidity is out of this world. Looking around at everyone in our group, we were just dripping sweat.
I was saying that in a couple weeks I'm sure we will be much more used to it, though it seems like we can never get used to the weather. One kid responds, "Yeah, by the end of the summer we will be shivering here and begging to go somewhere 'warm'". Haha typical. Everyone is so sassy in this program I love it. Though I would be grateful if more than one or two people understood my sarcasm. So many of my jokes are overlooked because no one gets them...it's pitiful, really.
Classes start again tomorrow. Wish we could relax for a few days but oh well. Excited for our first weekend here! Yay.
