Homesick Shmomesick

I'm not going to lie to you guys- the first few weeks here have been a lot to adjust to. I have been so homesick, and I really didn't expect it! I thought I was better prepared to be over here. But, the culture shock in addition to being completely away from family for the first time hit me hard. However, I realized today that I am finally feeling comfortable here and my homesickness has faded! Thank goodness. A week ago I would have told you that I thought I would never adjust to living here.

I'm really glad that it has gotten so much better/easier. I have always thought that give the opportunity I would love to work and live abroad and it's comforting to know that I am definitely capable of doing that.

But, I do miss the puppies and my family and the lake a ton. I cannot wait to reunite with them, though I am going to try and soak up every single day I have here and make the very best of it.

Anyway, I know this post is pretty different from my usual rantings about life here. The next week there is going to be a lot happening as we spend our last days in Tianjin and our first days in Shanghai. I will try and update the blog as soon as I can, and I'm sure I will have a ton to write about.
