#1.3

We frequently make jokes about the madness that erupts because there are so many people in China. I cannot imagine have 1 billion more people living in the United States... Coming back from the Summer Palace we must have hit some sort of rush hour because I have never seen that many people in the subway station. When we transferred from one line to another, the guards had to bring out a rope to stop people from going down to the platform for about 5 minutes because it had gotten so crowded.

What a zoo.
Personal space is not a thing here in China. I have been face to face with strangers on the subway, jammed together like sardines and no one worries about it. 1.3 billion people is hard to imagine until you've been here and seen the madness yourself.
