Baby phone.

Thank goodness for China Mobile. A bunch of us went and bought go-phones the first few days we were here. They were 220 yuan, including the credit we put on the SIM cards. I think we started with 30 credits, each text is .1 credits and each minute on domestic calls is .5 minutes. My number is 13821349575. Actually, we figured out you can send me texts from the US/call me if you use China's country code (86 I think). So I guess if there's an emergency, that's the way to reach me since I never have internet! The phone is terrible for texting...I can't get used to it haha. But, it's a great safety blanket and an easy/reliable way to keep in contact with my friends in the program.
